SIMTEL Telematics Founder
SIMTEL Telematics was founded in early 2024 by Casey Simmons, a Roxby Downs, South Australian local. Casey has been in the automotive technology industry for over 20 years. As a qualified automotive electrician, he has supported his development studying electronic engineering and information technology, and operated various related businesses, including SIMTEL Roxby Downs. SIMTEL Roxby Downs is a leading telecommunications service provider, who, through his passion and supporting clients, has grown to an Australia wide internet service provider. Casey is passionate about solving problems for his clients, and with both automotive electrical and telecommunications professional backgrounds, SIMTEL Telematics is a natural amalgamation of both industries.
What is Telematics?
Telematics is an interdisciplinary field encompassing telecommunications, vehicular technologies (road transport, road safety, etc.), electrical engineering (sensors, instrumentation, wireless communications, etc.), and computer science (multimedia, Internet, etc.). Telematics can involve any of the following:
- The technology of sending, receiving, and storing information using telecommunication devices to control remote objects
- The integrated use of telecommunications and informatics for application in vehicles and to control vehicles on the move
- Global navigation satellite system technology integrated with computers and mobile communications technology in automotive navigation systems
